Is My GMAT Score Good Enough?

Many applicants to top MBA programs — HBS, Wharton, Kellogg, Booth, and others — want to know if their GMAT score is “good enough.”

This is the wrong question. There’s no simple rule. The score you need to achieve depends on which candidates you’re competing against. Some applicants should re-take the GMAT — even if they already have a great score. Extra points always matter. MBA ranking mechanics mean that statements like “After 740, it doesn’t matter” are never true.
